Let's learn about Traffic and Transportation Engineers!
Bridger

Have you ever wondered how people know how to make a parking garage big enough for a building? Traffic and transportation engineers have books that tell them how many parking places to plan for each kind of user of such large buildings. They add these numbers up and then know how big each parking garage should be.

Civil engineers with specialty in traffic and transportation are the people who collect data on exactly how many people travel to and from work. Over the years the number of parking spaces required has changed as other options for the work trip (bus, train, bicycling) have become available.

Jim Ryan I am an engineer because.... when I was in middle school, I didn't know anything except that I really liked making model airplanes, math and some science. Figuring out how things worked was fun and pretty easy for me to do. I didn't have a chance to learn about what engineers do until I was 21. But once I knew how much cool stuff they got to build, I was hooked!
