Engineers find all kinds of energy sources to work for us. You can use the sun's energy to turn salt water into fresh water.
Fill a wide-mouth cup about ¾ full of water. Add salt until the water tastes salty. Place the cup into a clear plastic bag. Blow up the bag with your breath and fasten the neck tightly with a twist tie.
Place the bag/cup in direct sunlight. After two days, open the bag and taste the water that has collected at the bottom of the bag. The salt residue is in the cup.
