Let's learn about Civil Engineering!
Bridger

When designing a building, civil engineering is associated with site engineering- the design of grading, utilities, drainage and paving. The civil engineer works with each of the other types of engineers as well as the architect, the landscape architect and the contractor as a team to provide a coordinated, cost efficient facility.

Civil engineers do many things, such as working with data from the surveyor to make sure the building is on the right spot. Architects and contractors team up with the civil engineers to help build the site and to develop the layout of the building. The layout includes parking areas, sidewalks, flowers and trees.

To learn more about Civil Engineering take the quiz.

David Hargrove as a Child I am an engineer because... when I was little, I always enjoyed playing in the dirt and building different things, in different ways, with tinker toys and other building sets. As I got older, I became more involved in sports, instrumental music and writing. I realized that I wanted to incorporate all of my skills and interests into the real world.
