ACEC/CO produced a 24 minute classroom
video, "The Invisible World", that introduces young students to the exciting
world of consulting engineering. The story-based program highlights all
the various areas of consulting engineering that are involved in building
a bridge. The story is centered around Brianna, a middle school-aged student
who meets the challenge of building a bridge for a class project. She's
chosen to build a bridge--but has no idea how to do it. So she gets help
from consulting engineers. They tell her how bridges are built and discuss
the different types of bridges that exist, what happens when a bridge is
built improperly, and to make a real bridge stand. Throughtout the video,
Tim, the show's host takes viewers to various bridge locations.
